Longines’ passion for equestrian sports began in 1878 with the production of a chronograph bearing the engraving of a jockey with his horse. This model, much loved by jockeys and horse enthusiasts and present on racing fields since 1881, allowed precision performances to the second. In 1886 it was already known and used by most sports judges. In addition, in 1926, the brand participated for the first time as a timekeeper in the Official International Horse Show in Geneva.
